Committee

Members elected the Committee who manage Peninsula Trail Runners Inc between Annual General Meetings.

PTR was originally set up and led behind the scenes by a small team, these individuals agreed to continue to provide support and act as the Committee during the inaugural year - 2016-2017, and were re-elected to their positions at the 2017 AGM, with most returning at the 2018 AGM.

Meet the final 2018-19 Committee........

President - Johnny 'The Seagull' Horrocks

Mr PTR, Johnny is the founder and inspiration for PTR and its progression to Peninsula Trail Runners Inc.

The Seagull has a passion for trail running and can often be found 'exploring' new trails. He is a qualified Personal Trainer and Athletics Victoria certified Recreational Running Coach, as well as an ultra trail runner, mountain biker, obstacle racer and has a love for health and fitness.

Johnny was nominated as a PTR Ambassador in 2018 and recipient of the PTR Ambassador Award in 2019

Vice President - 'Pitty' Adams

The elusive 'Mr McAdams' is the reason PTR 'became' as he spent many an hour exploring the Mornington Peninsula's trails with the Seagull, whilst discussing its creation.

Pitty (does anybody know his real name??) has a passion for trail running and can often be found alongside the Seagull encouraging the 'discovery' of new trails. He is a qualified Personal Trainer and Athletics Victoria certified Recreational Running Coach, as well as an ultra trail runner and obstacle racer.

Treasurer - Mark Carmody

Mark stepped into the shoes of Treasurer at the AGM in 2018, after serving as an inaugural committee member. He is a long term member of PTR and a quiet achiever. He often runs under the radar but achieves great things. He can often be found supporting the social night runs, ensuring nobody gets left behind.

Mark was nominated as a PTR Ambassador in 2017 and was the recipient of the PTR Ambassador Award in 2018.

Secretary - Justine Horrocks

Behind every successful man, there is a wise hardworking woman :)

Whilst having not yet developed a 'love' for running Justine does enjoy where the trails lead and is known to run for chocolate.

She has been the support for Johnny as he has moved his dream for PTR into reality.

Justine was nominated as a PTR Ambassador in 2017 and again in 2018

Ordinary member - Jayne Carmody

Jayne has developed a love for running and exploring new places. Injury and health have at times impacted her ability to get out and enjoy the trails, however if she isn't running she is often found volunteering and/or supporting the members.

Jayne was the instigator of the Spencer Davis Group, and the recipient of the inaugural PTR Ambassador Award in 2017.

Ordinary member - Katherine Porter

Katherine joined the committee at the AGM in 2018.

More info to follow, watch this space .......

Ordinary member - Gus Strangis

Gus joined the committee at the AGM in 2018.

Running started as part of his weight loss journey in 2013 and whilst he struggled initially with endurance he had a mission that by the time he reached 50 he would have completed a Half Marathon. And with the encouragement of his PTR family he has now achieved three!

What will his next goal be??

Ordinary member - Klara Strangis

Klara joined the committee at the AGM in 2018.

Whilst not a runner she is involved in PTR to support Johnny , Justine and her  husband Gus, who runs occasionally. Her FOMO means she is usually helping at events where PTR members are participating. She loves the camaraderie and the vibe,  seeing everyone there, giving it a go and achieving fantastic results.

Who knows, maybe one day you might see her out on the trails or maybe not......
