A short history lesson about PTR
Some of you will know this and to others it will be new news. Peninsula Trail Runners was started by Johnny as he and his buddy 'Pitty' spent hours exploring the Mornington Peninsula's trails. Pitty loved the Lego Movie and so their tagline became ‘everything is awesome’. Crossing the Rubicon came to reflect their constant striving to achieve more and more whilst out on the trails. Johnny created Bad Leroy and the PTR logo and designed their tops, printing them at home- the f

Left Foot, Right Foot, Stumble, Butt Slide, Left Foot, Right Foot, Repeat. It was a cool and crisp winter morning as I drove my car along the same route I’d travelled year after year to work. Mindlessly letting the fields, tractors and occasional rogue cow roll past my window, whilst not really listening to another comedy series podcast that was well past is used by date. My thoughts were further afield, specifically to the half marathon I had signed up for which was to tak

Member Profile - Gill Donald: The day we met for the first time.
It had been a long day, month and year and if I’m honest - I was finally at the better end of a time in my life that had challenged me beyond any I could ever comprehend. It was a year of letting go of absolutely everything that I had dedicated my existence to, to start again. Of course, at that time of confusion, I couldn't see what was ahead of m

Once I started and started pushing myself I unlocked this whole new world within myself, a world of capabilities and not being good at something but still giving it your best each and every day. A world of sanity, peace, love for myself and freedom. My most peaceful and relaxing part of my d

Ultra Trail Australia-My Review
My trip to Katoomba in the beautiful Blue Mountains west of Sydney began very early Thursday morning (4am departure) in a convoy of three vehicles filled with runners, crew and family. Dodging numerous kangaroos we made it to the Hume Highway and headed north stopping every so often for fuel (both for the humans and the cars) Made it into Katoomba and started off with a 3km walk along some of the 100km course to Scenic World for race checking and kit collection, then walk bac

Oscars Hut 2 Hut – An adventure of a lifetime… and for a great reason!

Having a few Oxfam Trailwalkers under my belt over the years (seven if we are counting), and having converted to ‘slow but sure’ trail running over the past five years, I knew that I could get through the distance, but the terrain?
